The Kelowna Rockets earned a split with the Cougars during a two-game stint in Prince George on the weekend (Nov. 15-16).
Kelowna91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s come back effort fell short on Friday as they lost 4-3 to the Cougars. It was a different story Saturday night as the Rockets beat Prince George 5-4 thanks in part to a three-point effort (1g, 2a) from Caden Price.
The first period ended tied 1-1and the Rockets were up 3-1 by near the middle of the second period. Prince George scored three unanswered goals and led 4-3 by the 16:56 mark of the third period. Kelowna put the game away with goals in 0:28 for the 5-4 win.
Rockets goals came from Price (6), Tij Iginla (12), Jakub Stancl (8), Michael Cicek (8), and Andrew Cristall (10). Iginla, Cristall and Cicek each had two-point nights (1g, 1a)
Each team had five powerplay opportunities but failed to convert. Kelowna outshot the Cougars 31-18 and Rockets goaltender Jari Kykkanen made 14 saves. The Rockets are in ninth place in the Western Conference with a record of 8-8-1-1.
