For the second consecutive summer, Kelowna Rockets head coach Kris Mallette is coaching at the international level.
Hockey Canada announced on Wednesday (July 5) that Mallette will serve as an assistant coach for Canada at the under-18 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, taking place in Trencin, Slovakia and Breclav, Czechia from July 31 to August 5.
Mallette will be behind the bench with head coach Alan Letang (head coach Sarnia Sting - OHL), fellow assistant coach Sylvain Favreau (head coach Drummondville Voltiguers - QMJHL), goaltender coach Justin Pogge, and video coach James Emery.

Mallette and Team Canada will be looking for their second straight gold medal in the tournament, starting against Finland on July 31 at 10 a.m. Pacific time.
