Kelowna91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s Andrew Cristall and Tij Iginla shone brightly in the Rockets91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™ dominant 9-1 win over the Regina Pats on Saturday night (Nov. 30) at Prospera Place.
Both players notched five points in the game. Cristall (18) delivered a hat trick and added two assists, while Iginla (14) contributed a goal and four assists. Jakub Stancl (10) also had a standout performance with a goal and three assists. Goaltender Jake Pilon made 26 saves to claim his sixth win of the season.
After exchanging goals in the first five minutes, Hiroki Gojsic (7) scored the game-winning goal at 5:09 of the opening period. Tye Spencer (7) scored the lone goal for Regina. The Rockets outshot the Pats 31-27 and converted one of their two powerplay opportunities.
"I like the fact that we were able to roll four lines and six defencemen," said Rockets Head Coach Kris Mallette. "There have been some games where we haven't had that luxury, so I thought the challenge for our group was to try and play a team game.91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ
The Rockets lost to the Winterhawks 6-4 in Portland on Friday (Nov. 29). With Saturday's win, Kelowna holds ninth place in the WHL Western Conference, boasting 25 points and a record of 11-10-2-1.
The Rockets now head out on a three-game road trip, starting in Everett on Friday (Dec. 6), followed by back-to-back games against the Victoria Royals.
