The Rockets91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™ offensive struggles continues with a 7-2 loss to the Prince George Cougars Friday night. The Rockets made several new additions to their defence over the past week with a couple trades, so it would make a little bit of sense that the group would take a few games to find a rhythm.
Time is not something the Rockets have a lot of. With their latest loss, they drop to a 17-20-3-1 record which will push them further back into third place in the B.C. division, and with the second half of the season fully under way, the Rockets will need their first win of 2019 sooner, rather than later, if they want to hold on to their current playoff position.

The Cougars got off to a hot start on Friday night, scoring three quick goals on starting goalie Roman Basran on only 11 shots. James Porter came in to relief, but did not fair much better, stopping 14 of 18 shots. With a 4-0 lead at the end of the first period, the Rockets found themselves in a hole that was too big to climb back out of.
Leif Mattson and Nolan Foote were able to put some points on the board for the Rockets, but there was little else of an offensive threat from the Rockets and even less of a defensive stand as the Cougars scored seven goals on 29 shots.
The Rockets look for redemption Saturday night with a rematch with the Cougars, who find themselves only seven points behind the Rockets for a playoff position.
Kelowna will return to home ice next on Jan. 16 to face the Moose Jaw Warriors.
