This marks the anniversary of the day in 1929 when women were included in the legal definition of 91Ƶpersons.91Ƶ

The case was a landmark in gender equality in Canada.

At the time, Lord Sankey, Lord Chancellor of Great Britain, announced the decision. 91ƵThe exclusion of women from all public offices is a relic of days more barbarous than ours,91Ƶ he said. 91ƵAnd to those who would ask why the word 91Ƶperson91Ƶ should include females, the obvious answer is, why should it not?91Ƶ
