A ski lift that broke down at Big White Ski Resort due to a seized bearing in the electric motor, is now back in action.

Skiers had to be evacuated from the Black Forest high-speed chairlift on Jan. 27.

On Jan. 30, Michael J Ballingall of Big White took to Facebook to explain the part for the chairlift had arrived at the mountain from Toronto and was to be installed.

By 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, the installation was complete and testing was underway.

Ballingall announced that the Black Forest ski lift would be operational for the morning of Jan. 31, making for some very happy skiers.
