An annual holiday tradition that's seen an "overwhelming response" from the community is set to return to Penticton.

"Cram the Cruiser" returns Friday, Dec. 13, as members of the community's protective services gather outside Real Canadian Superstore and collect non-perishable food donations to support the local Salvation Army food bank.

"Throughout the year, we see first-hand the struggles that many people are experiencing and this year has been a tough one for many," said Travis Mills, a Penticton bylaw officer. "The goal of 'Cram the Cruiser' is to make the season a little brighter."

Bylaw officers, along with members of Penticton RCMP, Penticton Fire Department, Penticton and District Search and Rescue, Canada Border Services Agency, and BC Corrections, will take part in the event.

"This will be the third year we91裸聊视频檝e done 'Cram the Cruiser' and the response has been overwhelming," Mills said. "We are hoping to raise more than 1,000 pounds of food donations for the community.91裸聊视频�

People are invited to stop by and drop off donations between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

According to the Salvation Army, the most needed items include crackers, soup, cereal, pasta, toiletries, Kraft Dinner, canned vegetables, canned proteins, and financial donations. Toys will also be accepted.
