The community answered the call of the sirens and helped fill the fire trucks during Sicamous Fire Rescue's (SFR) annual food and toy drive.
In a Facebook post thanking residents, the department said this year's event "brought out the best of our amazing community." Among the many items collected was an anonymously donated brand new 55-inch TV, which the SFR passed along to the Sicamous Legion to auction off to stretch it further.
"The result?," the post asked. "An incredible $1,500 raised for the food bank... A huge thank you to the donor, the Sicamous Legion and everyone who made this happen. Together, we're making a difference for families in need this holiday season."
