A more than two-year-old pledge to help expand cancer care in the South Okanagan and Similkameen has been fulfilled.
Volunteers from the Penticton Regional Hospital (PRH) Auxiliary recently presented the SOS Medical Foundation with a $103,000 cheque, reaching their goal of $400,000 for the expanded oncology clinic, which will open on the third floor of the hospital in June 2025.
The pledge was made in 2022 and fulfilled thanks to a generous legacy gift, Taylor Swift ticket draw, proceeds from the Care Closet, and community donations from across the region.

"Their generosity and commitment will leave a lasting impact on our community.91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ
Funds from the pledge will go toward the medical foundation's $10 million oncology clinic campaign, which launched more than two years ago.
In April 2024, the foundation said it raised $5 million of its $10 million goal.
Lissette Little, director of development at the SOS Medical Foundation, said in November that more updates are soon expected on how much has been raised to this point.
