Friends and family of Aimee Parkes recently hosted a golf tournament in the Kelowna resident91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s memory.
The event took place April 22 at Michaelbrook Golf Club where family as far away as England gathered to remember Parks as well as raise money for the BC SPCA.
Parks was a dedicated volunteer at the BC SPCA and often fostered kittens.
The 35-year-old was tragically killed by her former fiancé in 2014 91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ” Ryan Quigley was sentenced to 12 years in prison, less time served last October.
Jenny Matechuk the community fundraising officer based at the Kelowna shelter, says she is grateful Parks91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™ family chose the BC SPCA to be the recipient for the tournament proceeds.

The tournament raised $4500 for the non-profit and the hope is to continue the event next year.
