An upcoming fundraiser provides an an opportunity to support the Salmon Arm Art Gallery and take home an original artwork.
More than 120 previously loved artworks will be available "at very reasonable prices" during the Off the Wall event, which gets underway on Saturday, Nov. 16, and runs to Dec. 24. Funds raised during the event will go to the gallery's exhibition program.
"Amazing works from local, regional and international artists have been donated to the Art Gallery over the past five years," said Curator Tracey Kutschker in a media release, sharing gratitude for the "folks who have been downsizing and donating these works to us."
"It is important to us that we value artists and art service providers, so fundraising to support the Exhibition program is critical."
Previously purchased from artists, the artworks available during the event include paintings, drawings, pottery, fibre arts and mixed media, priced between $25 and $200.
One wall will feature 12 works that will be presented in a live auction at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov 30. There will also be a Kids-Only Gallery with works for $5.
An opening reception for Off the Wall will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16. A live auction and dance party os planned for Saturday, Nov. 30, with doors opening at 4 p.m., the auction at 5 and dancing at 6. A jigsaw puzzle exchange takes place on Wednesday, Dec. 4, from 4 to 5 p.m.
Hot Chocolate and Fire Sale on Saturday, December 14 from 2pm to 4pm.
Gallery hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and admission is by donation.
