Dine and Chat, a club in Kelowna created to help seniors find friends, met up for an end of summer luncheon.
On Friday, Sept. 22, approximately 40 friendly faces from Dine and Chat members gathered at Sutherland Park for a lunch and get together before the cold fall and winter months.
Created by Gloria-Jean Seymour in 2018, Dine and Chat has become an institution for seniors (60+) around Kelowna to meet and make new friends, maintain friendships to avoid loneliness. Since it91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s inception, the group has gathered every Tuesday morning, 11:00 a.m., at Deli City Cafe on Springfield Road. Since the beginning, throughout the pandemic, and still now, the participants of the group maintain friendships via phone calls, texting, and e-mails.
The group has just grown over the five and a half years it has been active. The 91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ˜friendship list91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™, as Seymour calls it, has more than 450 contacts and she91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s still thinking of new ways to make the group grow and ways of getting the group together on top of Tuesday meetings.
