Construction crew helps to douse brush fire in Kelowna

Fire crews are on scene

UPDATE: 3:05 p.m.

Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the flames thanks to the help of a nearby construction crew who was able to get water to the area after noticing the fire. 

The blaze was contained to a bush and a base of a tree. 

Traffic did not appear to be impacted by the incident. 

It's unclear how the fire started at this time.

A brush fire has sparked on Ziprick Road and Highway 33 behind the Costco, just before 3 p.m. Wednesday. 

According to witnesses on scene, flames could be seen rising from the area. 

A construction crew had access to a hose and was working on dousing the flames as firefighters arrived.
