Kelowna to collaborate with Lime scooters for two more years

The city has renewed its contract with the micromobility company

Lime e-scooters and e-bikes will be rolling around Kelowna streets for another two years. 

The city has renewed its contract with the micromobility company. Lime has been operating in Kelowna for the past 3.5 years.

91裸聊视频淭hroughout their time operating in Kelowna, staff have reviewed feedback from residents and adjusted the program with Lime to better meet the community91裸聊视频檚 needs,91裸聊视频 said Cameron Noonan, transportation planner. 

Over two million kilometres have now been ridden, with roughly half of those trips replacing a car trip, meaning less traffic on city roads, Noonan added. 

The agreement includes performance standards of quality service, and safety.

"Ridership data shows that people value our safe, affordable, and sustainable e-bikes and e-scooters," said Sonia Kandola, director of government relations at Lime. 

Riders must be 18+ and wear a helmet while using e-scooters and e-bikes. Double riding, and drinking and riding are not permitted.

Lime representatives will be at the Bernard Block Party today (July 20) celebrating one million rides in Kelowna by giving away free helmets, swag and other discounts.
