Lake Country fire department, community raise $28K for food bank

More than 11,000 pounds of food were collected during the weeklong campaign

The Lake Country Fire Department91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s annual campaign to support the local food bank was a success.

Over the weeklong event, the fire department and community came together to collect 11,249 lbs. of non-perishable food and personal care items as well as $26,646 in cash and cheques, $1,990 in online donations, and $400 in gift cards. Everything donated is going to the Lake Country Food Bank.

The fire department thanked the community for its support of the annual campaign to support those experiencing food insecurity, noted a District of Lake Country Facebook post.
