Proposed developments to add apartment buildings and hotel in Kelowna

Developments are planned for the old Farmers91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™ Market site and Harvey Avenue

Development Plans For Former Farmers91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™ Market Site

A mixed-use development is planned for the former Kelowna Farmers91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™ and Crafters91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™ Market site near Orchard Park Mall.

The application, submitted by Empowered Development on behalf of Springfield LP, proposes two six-storey buildings featuring 169 market rental units and 125 market condos.

Despite the Official Community Plan allowing for heights of 12-15 storeys in the area, the developers are opting for six-storey buildings to align with the surrounding neighbourhood.

Amenities include private balconies, fitness rooms, coworking spaces, a landscaped courtyard, and a small playground. The project also emphasizes sustainable transportation, with car-share stalls, a bike wash and repair station, and EV charging for most parking stalls.

Harvey Avenue Project Combines Rentals and Hotel
Another proposed development at 771 Harvey Avenue includes a six-storey rental apartment building and a six-storey hotel. The apartment would provide 72 rental units, while the hotel would add 178 units to the site located between Richter and Ethel streets.

Both projects are in the early stages and have not yet been presented to city council for review.
