Westbank Lions roar back to support young girl with cerebral palsy

The Westbank Lions are hosting their first major fundraiser since the COVID pandemic to support a young West Kelowna girl.

A wine and food event is being held on Saturday, Oct. 5 to raise funds for Mia91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s Ride. Mia Kuypers has a severe form of cerebral that impacts her hearing, speech, and mobility, confining her to a wheelchair. 

Mia91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s Ride is raising funds to purchase and convert a Toyota Sienna van. The vehicle is needed for frequent trips to BC Children91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s Hospital, essential for Mia91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s ongoing care. So far, just over $47,000 has been raised of the $108,000 goal.

The Westbank Lions event is on Oct. 5 at 6 p.m. at 19 Okanagan Bar and Grill (3509 Carrington Road) and includes a five-course meal paired with five wines. Tickets are $100 and are available through the or by emailing LionsClubWestbank@gmail.com.
