Former Kelowna athlete representing Canada at Little League World Series

Former COMBA player Xavier Cabalfin is representing Canada at the 2024 Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

A former Kelowna baseball player is Little League World Series (LLWS) bound.

Shortstop and catcher Xavier Cabalfin, a former member of the Central Okanagan Minor Baseball Association (COMBA) is set to represent Canada in the annual tournament. The 12-year-old now plays for Whalley Little League, who qualified for the LLWS.

To become national champions and qualify for the trip to Williamsport, Pennsylvania, Cabalfin and his Whalley teammates beat Team Alberta in the finals, which were held in Kingston, Ont.

Cabalfin and Team Canada open up the double elimination-style tournament on Wednesday, Aug. 14 at 2 p.m. Pacific time as they take on a team from Chinese Taipei, representing the Asia-Pacific Region. The game can be seen live on TSN.
