Tij Iginla went into the holiday break on a high note.
The Kelowna Rockets forward was named the WHL91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s player of the week for the week of Dec. 11-17.
In the stretch, the Lake Country product collected nine points (three goals, six assists) in four games as the Rockets continued their road trip through the prairies. The Rockets went 3-1-0-0 in those four games and in the three wins, Iginla was a contributing factor in each game-winning goal.

Iginla is riding a six-game point streak (five goals, six assists) and leads the Rockets with 25 goals in the first half of the season. With those 25 goals, he sits sixth in goals in the league.
Central Scouting has Iginla ranked as a 91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ˜B91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™ prospect projecting him to be drafted in the second or third round in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft.

All 32 NHL teams choose the 40 players across the WHL, OHL, and QMJHL to play in the game in front of hundreds of scouts to try and improve their draft stock. The WHL will have 12 forwards, four defenceman, and two goaltenders in the game. Iginla is the only Kelowna Rocket.
Iginla and the Rockets are back in action on Wednesday, Dec. 27, and Thursday, Dec. 28 as they play a home-and-home with the Kamloops Blazers. The 27th is in Kamloops while the 28th, the Rockets are finally back at Prospera Place for the first time since Nov. 29.
