It91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s going to be a busy weekend at Elks Stadium.
While the Okanagan College Coyotes welcome Edmonton Collegiate for a four-game series, the Kelowna Spring Invitational Tournament will also be taking place.
The tournament starts Thursday afternoon and features nine teams - Okanagan Athletics, North Shore Twins, Chilliwack Cougars, Coquitlam Reds, Okotoks Dawgs Academy (Red), Okotoks Dawgs Academy (Black), Calgary Bucks, ATHX Academy, and Red Deer. It is a round-robin tournament, with some games also taking place at Lombardy Park.
With the Coyotes hosting the tournament, they will also be playing their four-game set, playing at 8 p.m. on Friday. Apr. 5 is also Student Night, where post-secondary students get into the ballpark for free when showing their student ID.
They will also play at 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, and 1 p.m. on Sunday.
Okanagan College is 2-2 going into the second weekend of the Canadian College Baseball Conference (CCBC) season, tied for third in the league standings. After the first week, Coyotes outfielder Ryan Dousett was named CCBC offensive player of the week. He91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s second in the league with a .600 batting average (9/15) with a double, four RBIs, seven runs scored, three walks, and four stolen bases.
Edmonton is the only undefeated team in the league so far as they started 4-0.
