The Shuswap has some 'choice' businesses, and they're being recognized with a nationwide award.

The Canadian Choice Awards (CCA) were just announced, with 14 local establishments having received recognition, which includes a trophy, online winner's badge and marketing materials. Winners are chosen from nominee submissions, which are then narrowed down to three finalists with the top one chosen based on feedback and an independent analysis. 

"Canadian Choice Award honours the heart and soul in Canada's business world," the website states. "Each year, we shine a spotlight on the small and medium-sized businesses that power our nation's economy, drive new ideas, and improve our communities."
