The Eagle Valley Community Support Society (EVCSS) received some support of its own recently, just in time for the traditionally busy holiday season.
At the Nov. 21 meeting of the Columbia Shuswap Regional District board meeting, electoral area directors unanimously approved a grant-in-aid request of $14,000 to the EVCSS, which provides counselling, supports families and runs the food bank.
Local Area E director Rhona Martin took the opportunity to thank the society for all the work it does, adding that "it doesn't matter what your circumstances are... they play a big role in both the District of Sicamous and Area E."
Despite it being located in Sicamous, other areas of the Shuswap have also benefited from the EVCSS, which Area F director Jay Simpson acknowledged.

The Eagle Valley Community Support Society provides support outside of their area as well and I know that they have been active in the North Shuswap with regards to the food bank, et cetera," he said. "I do appreciate the efforts that put in throughout the region.91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ
Martin agreed, adding the EVCSS also operates the Better at Home program for the Shuswap.
