The Shuswap welcomed its newest resident on Jan. 1, though little is known about the special delivery.

Interior Health announced the arrival of the 2025 New Year baby at Shuswap Lake General Hospital on Wednesday afternoon, with a little girl delivered at 2:20 p.m. As her parents haven't yet authorized any photos or additional information going out, that is all IH can share at this time.

Baby girl made her appearance just over 14 hours after B.C.'s first new arrival of the year after Jordan Hill and her partner Elijah met their first child, a baby boy named Emerson, at 12:02 a.m. on New Year's Day.
