Crashing into bus leaves Kelowna man facing charges

A Kelowna man is facing charges following a crash into a bus on Glenmore Road North Thursday afternoon.

On May 19 at 2:51 p.m., the Kelowna RCMP and Kelowna RCMP Municipal Traffic Services attend to a report of a crash involving a grey Ford Ranger pickup truck and a tourist charter bus which occurred in the 2100 block of Glenmore Road North.

"Police have determined that the driver of the Ford Ranger failed to stop in time before colliding with the rear driver91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s side corner of the bus which had stopped in traffic," said Const. Jesse O'Donaghey, in a press release.

No injuries were reported to police in this incident. An alternate bus was dispatched to transport the passengers on board, as both vehicles were towed from the scene.

The driver of the Ford truck, a 24-year-old Kelowna man, was charged under the Motor Vehicle Act (MVA) for following to close, which carries a fine of $109.
