Letnick has served as the Kelowna-Lake Country MLA for the last seven years and as agriculture minister for three years. He is a former business professor at Okanagan College and former Kelowna city councillor.
Together with Kelowna-Mission Liberal MLA Steve Thomson, the province's Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations Minister, and Premier Christy Clark, who is the MLA for Westside-Kelowna, the local trio of Liberals represent the entire Central Okanagan in the B.C Legislature.
Thomson and Clark are also both expected to be acclaimed as candidates in their ridings leading up to the next provincial election, which is scheduled for May 9, 2017.
