A man faces potential charges after being arrested by the BC Sheriff Service outside the Kelowna Law Courts Thursday morning.
On May 19 at 9:40 a.m., the Kelowna RCMP were called to assist the BC Sheriff's Service who had arrested a man outside the Kelowna Law Courts on Water Street.
"Police have learned that the suspect had been denied entry into the courthouse after he allegedly refused to allow the BC Sheriff Service to search his bag," said Const. Jesse O'Donaghey, in a press release.
"The suspect allegedly stood at the bottom of the courthouse steps, pulled a knife from his bag and proceeded to damage his bicycle."
According to Sheriff's the suspect was taken into custody without incident. He was eventually turned over to police.
The suspect, a 37-year-old Kelowna man, remains in police custody. He is expected to appear in Court tomorrow.
