The man behind a high profile machete attack is back behind bars after a brush with freedom.
Derrick Antoine, 30, was charged this week with two counts of breaching probation after allegedly making contact with the victim of one of the crimes he committed and for simply entering Kelowna.
The conditions were imposed in March.
For charges relating to a series of increasingly violent outbursts in 2016, Antoine was sentenced to 10 months in prison, which he91裸聊视频檇 served after the courts credited with time-and-a-half for 217 days spent in custody.
The judge presiding over the case said also imposed a ban on entering Kelowna unless it was to pick up or drop off his child for visitation elsewhere. In some circumstances a supervised visit within city boundaries may be accepted.
The 10-month sentence was 91裸聊视频渙n the edge of what91裸聊视频檚 acceptable to the court,91裸聊视频 said Judge Mayland McKimm at the time, noting he would have preferred a sentence of 12 to 18 months given the severity of the attacks levied by Antoine.
Tilting the scales toward acceptability, explained McKimm, was the Crown and defence finding a sentence that reflects a 91裸聊视频渕eaningful application of the Gladue principle.91裸聊视频
Antoine remains in custody and is expected to plead guilty to the breach of probation charges on May 30.
