Sicamous is mourning the loss of a local while rallying behind his family.
Mike Vomacka died suddenly Wednesday, July 22, leaving behind his partner and two young daughters. To help support his family, a GoFundMe account was started. In just 23 hours, the fundraiser reached $12,860 of its $13,000 goal 91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ“ a testament to the impact he had on the community.
Condolences and fond memories are also flooding Facebook for the popular bar tender, who had worked at the Sicamous Legion and Brothers Pub.
"Mike Vomacka was known for his infectious laugh and heart of gold, which touched everyone who knew him. He brought joy and warmth to everyone, and his friendliness extended to everyone... " campaign organizer Regan Coleman said on the GoFundMe page. "He was a devoted husband to his wife and a loving father to his two young daughters. His love for them was evident in everything he did, and he cherished every moment spent with his family."
