91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ˜Once I got the opportunity to participate this year, it really wasn91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™t something that I was expecting, a lot of the memories, a lot of the opportunities coming my way. This whole experience has been very validating to me.91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™
Salgado says that he had just finished auditioning for 91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ˜American Idol91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™, when the opportunity arose.
91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ˜It91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s interesting because at the time I just came off of auditioning for American Idol and that didn91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™t really go my way at the time, I think that was a huge turning point for me because I realized, it91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s not that I wasn91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™t vocally ready, it was just not the right time in that moment.91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™
The only person in British Columbia to make it as a finalist, Salgado talks about the talented people in and around Nanaimo on Vancouver Island.
91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ˜It91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s just crazy. There91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s so much talent in Nanaimo and it91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s really cool to see people just being able to share their gifts with our community and being able to share that on a world platform. There91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s just so much talent. I91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™m not surprised, but I91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™m also just so happy that we91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™ve been able to represent well with music and with the arts.91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™
Lauren Spencer Smith and Cameron Whitcomb competed on 91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ˜American Idol91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™ and Carlow Rush and Jacksun Fryer of 91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ˜Funkanometry91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™ recently competed on 91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ˜America91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s got Talent,91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™ all of Nanaimo.
