Kelowna Secondary Student Robson Carrier was recognized for his gold medal during the regional Skills Canada competition, at the Board of Education meeting Wednesday night.
He received gold in the Mechanical CADD category, which is computer aided design and drafts.

Robson gets his mechanical skills from his father, who has experience in engineering.

Next year, Robson is aiming to get into engineering at UBCO and will be competing at the national level in Winnipeg at the end of May.
Language Agreement
The Central Okanagan School District is receiving more than $7 million as part of the Supreme Court of Canada91裸聊视频檚 ruling in November, restoring the language from the 2002 agreement which sets classroom sizes. The district will also have approximately 125 new teaching positions from September 2016 to September 2017.
Video impresses school district
Central Okanagan School District chairperson Moyra Baxter congratulated Okanagan Mission Secondary students on their video titled Regrowth, which showed footage of the Second World War accompanying music provided by the senior band.
The video was presented at a regular board meeting on Wednesday night and will be a part of the Okanagan Military Museum.

School board passes along civics request
The Board of Education referred a request made by a COPAC and COTA to engage the community in positive civics to the Education and Students Services Committee during Wednesday night91裸聊视频檚 regular board meeting.
The request asks to enhance the school curriculum with a focus on civics and to work with UBCO for a civic inquiry project as well as endorse a statement about positive civics.
