A budding young Kelowna ski cross racer had a gold-plated weekend, Feb. 24 to 26, at Lake Louise, Alta.
Big White91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s Finn Cashin was in top form for both races he competed in at the Matrix Western Canada Ski Cross Series (Race #3).
In the U12 division, Cashin raced to a gold medal on Saturday, then repeated the feat on Sunday afternoon.

Four Kelowna athletes gained some national experience at the Canadian U16 alpine championships in Thunder Bay.
Big White Racers Hallie Jenkins and Anthony Kurkjian, along with Apex Ski Club members Devin Blaser and Isaac Athans were among 28 skiers representing Team B.C., Feb. 19 to 25.
In the ladies field, Jenkins held her own by finishing every race at the event, with her top finish of 33rd coming in both the Alpine Combined and Slalom races.
In the men91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s competition, Kurkjian91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s top finish of 37th came in the Alpine Combined where 50 per cent of the field failed to finish.
The highlight of the week was a night slalom race under the newly-lit run named The Giant, one of the steepest racing pitches in North America. Blaser finished a strong 25th place in the Slalom.

Lake Country91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s Ned Ireland has had a strong winter as a member of Canada91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s ski cross development team.
Ireland, 22, is coming off a 16th-place showing last weekend at an FIS World Cup in Sunny Valley, Russia.
He has also had top 16 finishes this season in Germany and Sweden.
Ireland will compete in a World Cup event this weekend at Blue Mountain, Ont.
