The wheeling and dealing continues for the Kelowna Rockets ahead of the WHL's trade deadline on Thursday, Jan. 9.
On Tuesday morning (Jan. 7), the team announced they have traded defenceman Marek Rocak to the Swift Current Broncos.

Rocak is coming off winning bronze with Czechia at the 2025 World Junior Hockey Championships.
Drafted by Kelowna in the 2022 CHL Import Draft, the 19-year-old played in 119 regular season games for Kelowna, scoring 10 goals and adding 50 assists.
In exchange for Rocak, the Rockets acquired 2006-born forward Dawson Gerwing and a fourth round selection in the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft.
Gerwing, from Meadow Lake, Sask. has 19 points (nine goals, 10 assists) in 69 career WHL games.
With the trade, Kelowna now has 14 picks in the 2025 draft, including three in the fourth round.
Kelowna is back in action on Friday, Jan. 10 when they welcome the Prince George Cougars to town. Puck drop is at 7:05 p.m. at Prospera Place.
