Salmon Arm's Madeline Wilkie skis to first-place wins in BC Teck Cup race

Larch Hills Nordic Ski Team racers see great results at Revelstoke event

The Larch Hills Nordic Ski Team saw great results in Revelstoke over the weekend at the first Teck BC Cup race of 2025.

More than 400 racers were expected to take part in the Jan. 11-12 event hosted by the Revelstoke Ski Club at the Mount MacPherson Ski Trails. Competitors were greeted with warmer temperatures, which created some unique challenges the Larch Hills' team was able to overcome.

It was a successful cross-country skiing event for several of Larch Hills' team members, including Madeline Wilkie, the team's lone competitor in the U18 category. Wilkie took first place in her skate ski and classic ski races. Other top results were put in by Henry Bollans (first and second), Logan Marjoribanks-Aguirre (two third place finishes), Dominic Reid (fourth) and Keattan Klassen and Wyn Thingsted (fifth). In the masters and open categories, Larch Hills was well represented by Sheila Corbett with two firsts, and Thomas Hardy with a third-place finish.

Larch Hills will be hosting an Okanagan Cup race on Feb. 8, and have several other races around the province this winter
