As snow falls over the city, Penticton is gearing up for its second winter Frost Fest and the return of the Peach City Rail Jam.
Snowboarders have been invited to compete for cash prizes, plus $10,000 in sponsored giveaways on Saturday, Jan. 18, for the climax of the winter festival.

All the outdoor activities taking place during the festival are free to attend, with the rail jam scheduled for Saturday from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at Gyro Park.
Spectators can watch from any of the viewing areas around the park, with a large digital screen on display, or from the beverage garden (age 19+).
A DJ and multiple food trucks will also be on-site.
The inaugural event in 2024 saw a wide range of athletes, from local kids familiar with Apex Mountain to a skier from Sheffield in the U.K., compete for a crowd of a couple hundred people.
Dozens of sponsors have stepped forward for the Peach City Rail Jam and the Frost Fest as a whole, with other plenty of other events taking place over Jan. 17 to 19, including a hot air balloon glow-up, the Frostbite Film Night, a gala fundraiser for the HaHaHa Kidzfest and a polar bear swim with Penticton's own firefighters.
