Art of all kinds to be on display at Kelowna's Nuit Blanche

Nuit Blanche art exhibit comes to Kelowna on Oct. 5

A night of art, performances, and experiences is taking place in Kelowna on Saturday, Oct. 5.

Nuit Blanche, translated to White Night, has been happening in the Kelowna since 2013, thanks to the Centre Culturel Francophone de l91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™Okanagan (CCFO).

This year's theme is 'Through the Stitches', "threads together an array of artistic styles, mediums, and performances, each connected by the intricate fabric of human expression," said a press release.

Included in this year festivities are illuminated visual arts of Holly Dagenais at the Tourism Kelowna Visitor Centre, and Dylan Baker and Zoe Turcotte at the Rotary Centre for the Arts, poetry by Inspired Word Cafe, drag artists Mister Sister and an interactive dance by Move Better in Stuart Park, silent DJs and much more.

91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵœNuit Blanche started in Paris and Montreal in the early 200091ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s and spread quickly all over the world," said executive director Helene Girardot. "For over 10 years, the CCFO has shared this tradition with the community and brought together so many creative disciplines and artists into one cohesive and magical experience."

The event is taking place at multiple venues around town.
