Sicamous RCMP pulled over a pair of drivers clocked travelling 161 km/hr on Highway 1 on Sunday morning, Feb. 23, 2025.

Police picked up a two-in-one with a pair of drivers simultaneously pulled over for excessive speed on Highway 1 east of Sicamous.

At 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23, a Sicamous RCMP officer saw two westbound vehicles travelling well in excess of the posted 100 km/hr speed limit along the four-lane section of the Trans-Canada near Yard Creek.

"A Dodge Ram and a Chevrolet SUV appeared to be jockeying for position as they were nose to nose in their respective lanes," said RCMP Sgt. Murray McNeil in a media release.

A radar reading showed the vehicles travelling at 161 km/hr, leading to a traffic stop for both.

The drivers' respective vehicles were impounded for seven days for excessive speeding, and each was issued a $368 ticket.
